Intracellular recording: laser safety
Your safety is the most important. Don't hesitate to ask if you are not sure how to do some part of your project safely. Either find me or (if not quite so urgent) e-mail me
- My Laser is class 3B so it can damage your eyes. Therefore, ALL laser users must be registered and must have seen the safety video.
- Always wear the yellow protective goggles while the shutter is open
- Never interfere with the door interlock or the yellow microscope filter
- If you don't get a beam after the laser has warmed up, close the shutter and wait for 5 minutes. If there is still no beam, seek my help to check the beam is aligned so that it passes through the tube and does not hit the sides.
